Around 4 7 months of age permanent adult teeth will start replacing the baby teeth. Although the timing varies between animals as much as it does among humans the average kitten will have lost all her baby teeth by between 6 and 9 months old. The 12 incisors the small teeth at the front and the four fang like teeth called canines erupt between 3 to 4 weeks of age. Cats begin losing their baby teeth at around 12 weeks or 3 months.
Teeth can start coming in within a few weeks of birth. You may never even see the teeth as your kitten loses them as they are often lost during mealtime or through play. The majority of kittens begin losing their teeth at 3 months old however there are some cases where losing teeth may begin a bit later in life. Your kitten is born without teeth.
This happens just a few weeks after the baby teeth have erupted at the age of three to four months. However the kitten teething process does not end here. From 4 to 6 weeks old the four bottom premolars located at the side and back of her mouth come through.
